The Dover Eagle Foundation was founded in 2009 as a non-profit 501©(3) organization to make grants to the Dover Area School District, its teachers or administrators for projects for classroom, instructional or other educational needs of the Dover Area School District or to supplement or enhance the educational programs and activities of the Dover Area School District for the benefit of its qualified students.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and at least 80% of the members of the Board reside within the Dover Area School District or is an alumni of Dover Area High School.
